I used this app for the first time during my 9th year of having an ileostomy and the main thing on my mind as I went through it was 'where was this when I was getting my surgery?'. Getting a stoma put in place was such an overwhelming process, especially when it came to gathering the information I needed to be able to manage the appliance when I left the hospital with one for the first time. I have been using this app and I 100% recommend to EVERYONE…… the app is user friendly and easy to navigate and find everything I want. For me, the best thing is the access to the resources / information. It is difficult to remember everything after surgery, so having an app I can quickly check to answer my questions is phenomenal! Post-surgery, we forget how much we have been told and it feels frightening when in a situation and you have nobody to answer the questions you have at home, for example how to check your skin and stoma are healthy, or what could be helpful if skin is irritated. I personally see this app as a game changer for all ostomates, but especially those that are just about to have surgery. My relationship with my stoma started in 2011 and the resources back then were extremely limited, and it was very much “fend for yourself.” The app is simple to navigate and answers the vast majority of questions.
